Tasty Homemade Ketchup

Ingredients
  

  • 4 quarts organic tomato juice preferably from fresh tomatoes
  • 1 cup organic maple sugar
  • 1 cup organic white vinegar
  • 3 tbsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 3 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp celery seed powder
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 1 tsp black powder
  • 1/2 tsp allspice

Instructions
 

  • Blend tomatoes in a blender or food processor. Add all the ingredients to a medium sized stock pot. Bring to boil and allow to boil until the right consistency is reached. This took me about 2 hours. I found that blending the sauce at this point with a stick blender made the ketchup a lot more smooth. Refrigerate the ketchup for at least a day for the flavors to intensify. Enjoy.
