Simple Pan Fried Pork Chops

Thank you to Kailey Mentink for the great picture!

My favorite way to cook pork chops is on the grill. My husband loves to grill, but doesn’t have a lot of time for grilling, and I’m not focused enough to babysit the grill to make sure it doesn’t catch fire. I always try to multi-task a few too many things. My next favorite way to cook pork chops is to fry them with a little homemade seasoning salt, and I love my cast iron frying pan for this. We added some vegetables and sweet potato fries to this meal.

Sometimes I will pull these off the pan and add more butter and vegetables to the pan and cut up the meat while the vegetables cook and then add the cut up meat back to the pan for a delicious stir fry. We insist on using good quality pork and organic vegetables to make this meal very satisfying and to leaves us feeling energetic and focused .

Simple Pan Fried Pork Chops

Equipment

  • Frying pan (preferably cast iron)

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • pork chops

Instructions

  • I love my big cast iron frying pan for this job. I start by adding about a Tablespoon of butter to the pan. I allow the butter to melt and the pan to warm up on medium heat before adding the pork chops to the pan. After adding the chops, I sprinkle some of our seasoned salt on top, flip after about 3 to 5 minutes, sprinkle the other side with seasoning salt, fry another 3 to 5 minutes and then cover with a lid until they are tender and cooked well. We added some vegetables and sweet potato fries to this meal.
